- Well, President Bush is planning on resubmitting several names for federal court positions. Normally, this isn't a big issue, but, for the last four years, several of the Bush nominees have been blocked by angry Democrats in the Senate who were objecting that some of the nominees were too far to the right politically speaking. Sadly, this trend id going to continue for a while, I'm afraid. Democrats are not willing to give those nominees a straight up or down vote and GOP folks sadly shake their head sadly. It got so bad that in 2003, the Senate went on a 40 hour non-stop talkathon to beg Democrats into relenting and breaking the logjam that has tied up the Senate to the point that it's almost paralyzed. |
