Salaam (Dec 25 2004 00:29 GMT) - There's always something magical about Christmas, even if it's not the proper holiday spirit type of magic. It can revert you to childhood, accelerate you into old age, or make you feel frozen. Nothing does all three like smoking a cigarette out of your long-gone sister's window in your parent's house, looking down on the freezing white sand and pine needles, having just missed the snow storm that swept the entire freaking country. Long low hills of guilt and family wait, but the view can often be liberating. Climbing hills sucks. |
