They Think You're Stupid: Investing Social Security Funds in Personal Accounts (Dec 29 2004 15:59 GMT) - Excerpt: "New York Times columnist Daniel Altman wrote about 'Taxes and Consequences' after the election, fearing all prospective changes in the status quo. His complaints with allowing young workers to put part of their Social Security tax into personal savings accounts were stupendously supercilious. He demanded to know 'who would choose where workers could put their money?' The elitism here is obvious. |

VoIP Update: Sprint And Qwest (Dec 29 2004 15:58 GMT) - Both Qwest Communications and Sprint currently offer a variety of VoIP solutions that range from IP PBX design, installation, and maintenance to hosted offers and WAN trunking. However, when compared with each other and with other providers, Qwest and Sprint currently have some large gaps, and both plan to fill many of these in the coming year. Compared with Qwest, Sprint supports more brands of IP PBX as part of its standard offer, and it also provides a managed WAN-centric VoIP service, although this won't be productized until 2005. Qwest precedes Sprint in offering a softswitch-based hosted IP telephony (IPT) service in many major metropolitan areas and, unlike Sprint, it currently offers a packet-based integrated access service. |
