Kurds are the Closest Relatives of Jews (Dec 30 2004 00:58 GMT) - Kurds are the Closest Relatives of Jews Funny, They don't look Jewish:"Research has just begun into the ancient ties between Kurds and Jews. It would be interesting to see if the various Jewish groups have as strong a family tie to Kurds in the maternal lineages as they do in the paternal lineages. Preliminary studies indicate that Jewish populations in eastern Europe and Yemen have maternal origins that contain much more non-Israelite ancestry than their paternal origins. |

Honoring The American Voter (Dec 30 2004 00:57 GMT) - With all of the 2004 wrap-ups in the media and elsewhere, this one in particular doesn't highlight "the best of 2004" or "the top 10 of 2004" -- no, it highlights the top failure of 2004: Last December Failure magazine named the Bush administration as its Failure of the Year ... |

Hahahaha (Dec 30 2004 00:56 GMT) - I think hubby regretted taking me walking and shopping today. We did a round in one of the local malls and I noticed a new crafs/scrapbooking store were busy setting up shop. Naturally I made it known that I have to go look (And shop) once they're open for business. All we've got around here is a Michaels and Joann and neither of them caters much to scrapbook/paper crafters. |

"I have so many good songs it's pitiful." (Dec 30 2004 00:55 GMT) - Five minutes ago, I wouldn't have given 2 seconds of thought to the poet laureate for the State of Texas. Then I read this article by John Nova Lomax in the Houston weekly alternate fish wrap: Owed to Billy Joe. But what if we put forth someone who is familiar to much more of the public? Someone whose poetry takes the form of song lyrics about life, love and death expressed in the plain-spoken Corsicana vernacular of his raising? |
