Asian Earthquake [Gary Stapleton] (Dec 31 2004 01:34 GMT) - A well deserved congratulations to Ecademy management for placing a seperate section to the LEFT of the front page linking to the Asian Earthquake Foundation Club. Even though I am sure we all welcome related postings on the front page that discuss significant events, this will reduce the need to repeatedly post appeals, the subject matter is in plain view 24/7 and offers real choice to all members. Scientists: Fur, head hair not the same (Dec 31 2004 01:34 GMT) - Mammals have fur over most of their bodies, but at some point during evolution, we humans lost that fur covering. Researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis argue that hair on the head is somehow different from fur because fur stops growing when it reaches a certain length, but our head hair continues to grow. To drive home their argument, they ask in a recent article in the journal Evolutionary Anthropology, "Have you ever seen a chimpanzee getting a haircut?" |

Recommendation for Windows/IIS-based Hosting, USA (Dec 31 2004 01:33 GMT) - The forum Web Host Talk is pretty helpful when looking for a host. We used them to find Hostmysite.com, which has been a great host for us. Oddly, they are also a local company, a few miles down the road from where we are at. The location didn't play a part in our choice - their reputation did. |
