Charles Lindbergh, Orville Wright, Eddie Rickenbacker, Ernst Heinkel and Anthony Fokker are only a few of the pioneers of aviation whose correspondence is found in the archives. Original correspondence for Eleanor Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixion reflect the political changes of the past 75 years. |

Artie Shaw Dead at 94 (Dec 31 2004 03:32 GMT) - Artie Shaw, the jazz clarinetist and bandleader who rivaled Benny Goodman for the title of ``King of Swing'' in the 1930s and 1940s only to lay down his instrument for good in his prime a half century ago, died at the age of 94. Shaw died of natural causes at his home outside of Los Angeles, said Will Curtis, his orchestra manager, in a telephone interview. Shaw's health had been failing in recent years, Curtis said. |

Idea but no real Clue (Dec 31 2004 03:31 GMT) - I would consider asking the people who run the sites if they mind you doing this, as you may find at some point in the future (espescially in USA where people love to sue) that they take a intense dislike to you using there content without permision. It may not be a problem but I would consider it now as a serious problem and plan in advance just in case. There may be a reason they DO NOT provide a feed. On the other hand they may just be clueless, and if approached correctly, may love the extra publicity. Just cover your back. |
