Google and Overture Define Click Fraud (Dec 31 2004 11:40 GMT) - CLickZ News are reporting on growing concerns over the issue of click fraud: "The issue has been bandied about for years by online advertisers, yet click fraud remains misunderstood. Even with a spate of media attention devoted to the subject in the latter part of this year, a recent panel at Search Engine Strategies in Chicago revealed a lack of industry-wide consensus on what constitutes an act of click fraud. So ClickZ News asked experts at Google and Overture how the two leading search engines define click fraud, and what proprietary mechanisms they have in place to protect advertisers against it." 'Santa's Helpers' busted in drug arrests (Dec 31 2004 11:37 GMT) - Authorities seize 175 pounds of cocaine in Ohio The packages were labeled as toys for good girls and boys and the business was called Santa's Helpers. But authorities say the packages were nothing more than a naughty ruse to cover a large-scale drug smuggling operation. The bogus business tried to smuggle $7.8 million worth of cocaine from Los Angeles to nearby Willoughby, Ohio authorities said. Drug agents seized about 175 pounds of cocaine Monday in the largest seizure in Cleveland this year. |
