Ring Out The Old - The Best Television of 2004 (Dec 31 2004 23:22 GMT) - In what has been one of the most interesting year’s of television, ever, more new scripted series supplanted the old reliables in both quality and ratings. ABC struck gold with ‘Desperate Housewives’ and ‘Lost’, UPN finally got a series with ‘Buffy-like’ buzz in ‘Veronica Mars’, and even FOX managed to eke out a timeslot for a quality series, ‘House, M.D.’ in a schedule otherwise overbalanced in the reality direction.
