- Icons make action items stand out a bit more and easier to find. In the context of web design, there may exist certain circumstances where it's difficult to describe the text with just a picture. While it may seem obvious that "$" and "?" stand for money and questions, respectively, it may not be so readily apparent for an icon that would be labeled "About Us."
