Get your blogs read (Jan 07 2005 17:58 GMT) - Ever wonder why all of my Webpages are designed without fancy graphics? The answer is simple. Search engines love pure content sites. That's why blogs generally rank tops at Google these days. Why do corporations donate? (Jan 07 2005 17:58 GMT) - Generally corporations are quick to donate every time Mother Nature tests our will. So why do corporations donate? For most, it's good for business. Minutes after a pledge is offered, you can bet the press release is soon to follow. I'm guessing you don't have millions to donate. |

Coolfer's Final Music Picks (Jan 07 2005 17:57 GMT) - Last one, folks. At the Knitting Factory tonight is the musical equivalent to wearing a horizontally striped polo shirt with pinstriped slacks--but who knows, it might work. It's an event called Bandages, a montly show of "emerging music, film and art" that covers two of the Knit's floors. Bands on the diverse bill bill include Bad Wizard, Ekland, Black Cat Revolver and Stretch Armstrong. A cast of DJs will spin, including Junior Sanchez and Tarts of Pleasure. |

Why do icons need text labels (Jan 07 2005 17:55 GMT) - Icons make action items stand out a bit more and easier to find. In the context of web design, there may exist certain circumstances where it's difficult to describe the text with just a picture. While it may seem obvious that "$" and "?" stand for money and questions, respectively, it may not be so readily apparent for an icon that would be labeled "About Us." A good example appears at the top of this page. |

G-Money and Me: Bill Gates Interview (Jan 07 2005 17:55 GMT) - On the way to LaGuardia to catch a flight to Las Vegas, I got a call from Microsoft's Larry Cohen about a possible sit down with Bill Gates. I didn't quite know what to think of it, but I wasn't going to turn it down. I would ask the hard questions: Does Balmer really eat children? Can I swim in your Money Bin? |
