What a great place to live (Jan 09 2005 01:56 GMT) - Last Sunday I went to a tsunami victims benefit concert here in town. All the performers were locals. Well almost all, my neighbour in the other apartment in the house is Tomo who is visiting us from Japan for a year. Tomo is a pretty good guitar player and has written some nice sounding songs (in Japanese). He performed along with a couple of his friends from Rossland and borrowed my acoustic guitar for the gig as he only has his Fender electric with him. |

DTP question (Jan 09 2005 01:54 GMT) - I have a lead on a potential job that would involve DTP with something like QuarkXpress. I haven't used to DTP package for years, what with the web and all, so I'd like to get my skills back up to scratch. Problem is DTP programs seem to be quite expensive. Does anyone know of an open source / free / very cheap package? It doesn't have to be hyper modern or anything - we're just talking text and a few graphics and the ability to output PDFs for professional printing. |
