Under the Hood with Broadcom SecureEasySetup (Jan 12 2005 23:56 GMT) - SecureEasySetup offers one-push security, but does it deter malicious attacks? A few days ago, I wrote about Broadcom's new SecureEasySetup security offering, which allows a home user to setup and configure WPA Personal by pressing a button (software or hardware) on an access point and any client device, whether a computer adapter or a consumer-electronics device. The system is pretty slick and has a great degree of security and ease of use. But in contrasting SES with a similar offeri... |

Fool us once (Jan 12 2005 23:55 GMT) - Anyone tempted to give credence to the White House contention that Social Security is soon heading for an into-the-iceberg level catastrophe should take note of this update on another great crisis the Bush administration once warned us about: WMD in Iraq. The hunt for Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction is over, and the hunters have come home empty-handed, driven out by the chaotic violence that ensued from Bush's quixotic quest to secure the weapons that were not there. If you missed this bit of news, that's because in our town's newspaper, anyway, a little publication called the New York Times (which has its own, um, history with the supposed WMD crisis), it was buried inside on A10 in a 240-word news brief. Guess the WMD crisis that wasn't is yesterday's news to some. |
