robot.txt (Jan 14 2005 23:48 GMT) - I always use one, if for no other reason than to keep all those "404-not found" errors out of my logs when spiders request the robots.txt (note the plural -- it's not robot.txt). Keep in mind that robots.txt must, by its very nature, be readable, and thus anything you list in there is available for viewing by anyone who cares to look. |
