Help! Event Management Crisis! [Leanne Smith] (Jan 20 2005 22:59 GMT) - A dear friend of mine has been lumped with managing a prestige event - project management, PR etc. She is deeply committed to the organisation and really wants the event to be a sucess but it getting quite stressed and upset as she doesn't even know where to begin. She has no event management experience whatsoever (and very little business experience). Without taking up too much of anyone's time ... are there any words of wisdom or websites/articles she can read to get her started? |

Mr. Wizard : Football, Beer and Liability (Jan 20 2005 22:59 GMT) - As reported in the January 19, 2005 New York Post: "The company that sells beer at Giants Stadium was slapped with a $60 million judgment yesterday for a drunken crash in which a boozy fan left a young girl paralyzed."1 The company in question is Aramark, a billion-dollar food service firm. The drunken driver is Daniel Lanzaro. The family of the paralyzed girl pressed the lawsuit through their attorney, Davie Manzie, who in no doubt is happy, since he'll probably get $20 million (one-third) of the judgment. |
