Langsom computer (Jan 22 2005 23:42 GMT) - Et spørgsmål der kommer rimelig ofte herinde. Min computer kører ufatteligt langsomt i øjeblikket. |

Pharmacare, Harvard Try To Shut Down Security Hole (Jan 22 2005 23:42 GMT) - cfusion writes "CVS's drug insurance wing Pharmacare and Harvard University have taken steps to shut down a security hole that would have allowed anyone on the Internet to view any Harvard affiliate's drug history, a possible violation of Federal laws concerning medical records (HIPAA). The Boston Globe has the story, which came after the vulnerabilities were discovered by two reporters for the school newspaper (that story has screenshots that show just how easy it was). Raises interesting questions about computer security and using ID numbers as passwords." |

The bellster network phone sharing service (Jan 22 2005 23:39 GMT) - Taking the concept of peer-to-peer telephony one step further, Bellster is the brainchild of Jeff Pulver, one of the people who initiated the free world dialup project back in 1995 (that's 40 years ago in human years). The concept is simple: let other members of the network make outgoing calls through your home phone line in exchange for the ability to do the same via theirs. If the community grows to an acceptable size, there should be enough nodes spread around the world to permit the routing of most calls through a line local to their destination. The implementation, on the other hand, is not for your average Skype user: |
