Another sad day in a long string of such days for democracy in Venezuela (Jan 25 2005 23:59 GMT) - I was encouraged this afternoon when I read that the National Assembly was considering naming the Electoral Board. Encouraged because I think the Venezuelan Supreme Court step over the bounds in naming gain the new members of the Electoral Board (CNE). Two years ago, the Supreme Court acted due to the omission of the National Assembly in naming the Board. But how can anyone argue omission this time around when the Assembly had never tried until today to name the new members of that Board? But it gets even worse. |

Jim Rome is on the ... (Jan 25 2005 23:59 GMT) - Jim Rome is on the air in the Triad, AM 790 sports radio, noon to three. I didn't know there was an AM 790 sports radio until I saw this ad in the N&R. And now I'm doing viral marketing, or propagating the meme, or something. Because I do enjoy Jim Rome on the radio, sometimes. |

ZigBee Alliance Triples in Size (Jan 25 2005 23:59 GMT) - maxstreampr writes "The ZigBee Alliance just put out a press release talking about how they tripled in size in the past year. I know, I can see the posts already. "What up to 3 members now." There are actually 124 members and they have some huge players in Phillips, Freescale, Samsung, and MaxStream. Not too shabby. |

The Senate should reject Gonzales as AG (Jan 25 2005 23:58 GMT) - The Senate will soon be debating on whether or not to confirm Alberto Gonzales as the next Attorney General of the United States. They must reject his confirmation and tell President Bush that Gonzales is unacceptable as this nation's top law enforcement officer. As noted by The Daily Kos: In January 2002, Gonzales advised the President that the United States Constitution does not apply to his actions as Commander in Chief, and thus the President could declare the Geneva Conventions inoperative. Gonzales's endorsement of the August 2002 Bybee/Yoo Memorandum approved a definition of torture so vague and evasive as to declare it nonexistent. |

Pitt & Aniston Still Co-Workers (Jan 25 2005 23:58 GMT) - When news of the demise of their romantic relationship came down the pipe, much was being speculated about what would happen to their production company. Plan B is the name of this joint venture with Brad Grey. Both of their publicists' have announced that they will continue to work together. This gives more support to my theory that they will be getting back together. In fact, I think this whole split is just a hoax to toy with the paparazzi. |

Ashlee A Diva Already And Bonnie McKee Turned Down By Joe?! (Jan 25 2005 23:57 GMT) - This is just a rumor being spread, so I have no way of actually knowing if it's true. However, this is being reported by some people that were part of one of the high school bands that played during Ashlee Simpson's Orange Bowl performance. Anyways, it was said that Ashley actually wanted to lip-syn... |

No sleep 'till DMOZ (- a sorry tale of abuse) (Jan 25 2005 23:56 GMT) - Quote: "What a surprise to see just which of those points drew a response, and which were ignored." It would be silly and tedious to try to reply to everything posted. Ammon, I found my way here via a RSS feed from blogdigger and/or pubsub (possibly both). I didn't follow anybody's post from anywhere. |
