Yes!, the new Greensboro weekly, ... (Jan 25 2005 18:50 GMT) - Yes!, the new Greensboro weekly, runs a comment from this blog in its letters column, which is cool, they say where it came from, and it's about a story they wrote, so that's all good and innovative and networked and stuff, but maybe they should call that column something like "Feedback" instead of Letters to Editor if they are going to run feedback that doesn't come as a letter to the editor. Meanwhile, Patrick Eakes is proofreading the alt-weekly and not even charging them for his work. Maybe he should. |

Neděle, 23.01.2005 ... Dvojí poklesek ... (Jan 25 2005 18:50 GMT) - [Egiho deníček] - Dobře, jestli Lanškrón nebo Sibiř, to už dle mýho soudu nemusí bejt zas takovej rozdíl. Teď jenom eliminovat Fabiáčí vlivy, mám v živé paměti, jak mi radil ohledně koupě mýho auta - hlavně prej bacha, ať nemám rezavý dvéře vod kufru. To bylo jediný, co ho napadlo. Že to nemá mít zmuchlanej celej zbytek karoserie, takovou drobnost velkoryse přešel. |

Pondělí, 24.01.2005 ... MHD a potkan ... |

Brace Yourself! Here Comes Einstein's Year (Jan 25 2005 18:49 GMT) - Einstein has been dead for 50 years this April, but he is still the scientist most likely to have his picture on the front page of the newspaper, perhaps famously sticking out his tongue. It is still Einstein's universe, and in honor of his "miracle year" in 1905, physicsts, universities and government organizations have laid on a gantlet of celebrations, conferences, books, concerts, contests, Web sites, lectures, games and a controversial intercontinental light show. Les morceaux sont aussi imprgns de l'esprit du Golem. L'histoire que raconte ces trois morceaux est celle d'une possession. Ces morceaux, sont, explicitement, des morceaux de chair, des morceaux d'un tre. |

Has a Cancer Vaccine Been Found? (Jan 25 2005 18:49 GMT) - A researcher at the Norris Cotton Cancer Center believes she has found a vaccine that protects against most kinds of cervical cancer. For 20 years, Dr. Diane Harper has studied the connection between a common viral infection called human papilloma virus and cervical cancer. Now she believes she may have found an answer — an experimental vaccine that protects against the two strains of HPV that are linked to 70 percent of cervical cancers. Preliminary findings suggest it is 80 percent to 100 percent effective. |

Hiding in plain sight Jon ... (Jan 25 2005 18:48 GMT) - Hiding in plain sight Jon Udell talks today about how Windows has supported "desktop search" for ages, but kept these searching and indexing features well hidden. I've had a similar experience. When I've been reading about how WinFS will allow XML metadata to be added to files, for better searching, I wonder am I the only person who remembers using the |
