Dozen claim MS codec patents (Jan 26 2005 13:51 GMT) - Amusing and perhaps a little ironic, this: The MPEG LA has had 12 separate companies claiming that they have essential patents in the pool it is developing for the licensing of Microsoft?s video codec, dubbed VC 1 under the SMPTE standard (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers). The fact that 12 separate companies, possibly more, will decide the fate of the technology has implications for if and how much Microsoft must charge for the codec. This is the CODEC that MS has been pushing for HDTV and "next generation DVD" (HDDVD and BluRay). |

Forms with PHP solution (Jan 26 2005 13:51 GMT) - When developing sites I normally prefer to have them consistent, and all be .php or .html. However, it's not a necessity - you can leave the pages where there's no interaction with database or whatever as .html no worries. |
