the daily wtf (Jan 26 2005 23:49 GMT) - I was just introduced to this site: The Daily WTF "Curious Perversions in Information Technology." I would start pointing to each good entry but I can't, they're all hilarious (or sad, depending on which side of the fence you're on). The main page is (as far as I can see) a blog-like rendering of the Daily WTF Forum from the forums on the site (check out the other forums too). Most excellent--subscribed. |

Red River Gorge video (Jan 26 2005 23:48 GMT) - There's a nice trailer of Classic Red by Jeff Neal at the video's web site. There is also footage of two 5.12 off-width roof cracks, though I somehow don't see how exciting that would be to watch on video... |

About turn (Jan 26 2005 23:47 GMT) - "You should be proud of me, you know, because I've been doing so well at maintaining my emotional equilibrium." And I have too. This, however, was not the sentence on the tip of my tongue earlier this evening when, from completely out of nowhere, the combination of a sudden thought, a piece of text and a particular song made any notion of maintaining my emotional equilibrium go completely out the window. As I said, I really have been doing so well. Which makes it all the more infuriating - and the effects all the more unpleasantly dramatic - when the mask slips. |
