Secretary-General Kofi Annan urged the Security Council on Sunday to consider sanctions against Sudan for "gross violations of human rights" in Darfur. Track of the year so far: No Lay’s “Unorthadox Daughter” (short audio sample). (Jan 31 2005 02:00 GMT) - (With apoligies to all male MCs and to other female talents like Shystie and Lady Sovereign, but this is the one track which got me hooked). I have been looking for new music to blow my mind away. Last year I wrote early on about Franz Ferdinand. It would have been easy to write about Bloc Party or The Bravery this year. Although these bands excite me, nothing has rallied me as much this year as No Lay and her tune Unorthadox Daughter. |
