Too much information on a page? (Jan 31 2005 11:49 GMT) - Yep, usually more pages (provided quality of content doesn't fall) are better. Gives you more Title tags to play with for a wider variety of keyword combinations too, and everyone can tell you that's a good thing. To be fully informative though, there is one potential SEO downside to splitting pages too much, and that's that longer pages tend to manage more obscure/incidental search phrase hits. Blogs are a classic example of this, where words from one blog post get mixed with words from another snippet in the same page and suddenly there you are with a high ranking you'd never even thought of. With this in Mind Andy, don't give yourself a hard-and-fast 600 word limit. |
