Short shelf life for Yale publications (Jan 31 2005 23:59 GMT) - Anonymous Patron writes "The Yale Herald Reports on Yale's Manuscripts and Archives Department, which holds boxes of back issues of obsolete student publications dating back to the 1700s. One archivist dryly summed up why the magazines most often fail: "Students leave." Others speculate that student publications die because their r辿sum辿-conscious founders graduate, having failed to establish a stable foundation for their endeavor. Diana Feygin, editor-in-chief of established conservative newspaper the Yale Free Press, disagrees with the explanation, noting that publishing controversial content is not always appreciated by employers. |

The $4.3 million Paper Industry International Hall of Fame is slated for a late February opening. Walking into the center, a bright, airy gallery yields a spectacular view of the roiling Fox River through arched windows. I think weve done a pretty good job of preserving the flavor of this building and still adapt it to what we think is going to be a high tech center, Waselchuk said. |

World Wetlands Day (Jan 31 2005 23:57 GMT) - World Wetlands Day On February 2, 2004, United States Embassies from South America to the Middle East will join their local communities to commemorate World Wetlands Day, an annual celebration of the vital importance of wetlands to the worlds ecological health and of efforts to conserve these invaluable habitats. The day marks the anniversary of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, signed February 2, 1971 in Ramsar, Iran. This years theme, "Theres wealth in wetland diversity --- dont lose it," emphasizes the biological and cultural diversity of wetlands and their important role in sustaining people physically and emotionally. Wetlands are a source of water, food, recreation, transportation, and, in some places, are part of the local religious and cultural heritage. They provide groundwater replenishment, benefiting inhabitants of entire watersheds. |

Adult Swim - Tom Goes to the Mayor (Jan 31 2005 23:57 GMT) - I'm a big fan of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block. Being able to watch Futurama and Family Guy nearly every night is great. I've started to really enjoy Sealab and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, as well. Those late nights when I wake up, I like to watch Cowboy BeBop and Ghost in the Shell. One thing I haven't been able to enjoy, after multiple tries, is Tom Goes to the Mayor. |

The terrorists tried to stop them from happening. It happened, and the turnout was huge. Grenade attacks, suicide bombings and other tools of hate failed to lessen the enthusiasm for free and open elections. |
