Google Becomes Domain Registrar (Jan 31 2005 23:56 GMT) - Further fueling the flames of speculation that surround Google's future plans, the search giant has recently become an ICANN-accredited domain registrar. Google will be able to directly sell seven top-level domains, but it is currently unclear where the company's specific intentions lie. |

Why is it good to employ or know geeks? [Julian "Geek" Guppy] (Jan 31 2005 23:56 GMT) - Lets face it if you employ a geek. Or a 'real programmers' as they are sometimes known you are getting value for money. Fantastic value for money. Who else will continue to work on a problem around the clock until a solution is provided even if you don't want him to or aren't even paying him. I think companies get excellent value for money because here you have an employee who's day to day efforts combine job, religion, philosophy and hobby all in one. |
