PDA (Feb 01 2005 18:53 GMT) - As I continue to step a bit further from politics I find some things are still worth my attention, things I feel could make a difference sooner than later and involve more than politicians: Gary Rhine features the Progressive Democrats of America on this entire entry at Rhino's Blog. He includes a link to William Rivers Pitt interview with Kevin Spiedel for an in depth history of how PDA came together, and insights into the game plan. I'm glad to see Gary aboard and pushing too. As I see it, this is our best shot at organizing anything left of center politically. |

Atheros on WAPI, 802.11n (Feb 01 2005 18:52 GMT) - Atheros talks about WAPI, 802.11N, and standards: Atheros recently announced that they would be the Wi-Fi chip supplier for Lenovo, the Chinese firm that plans to take over IBM's personal computer division. While that takeover may be temporarily held up due to politicking, it's still likely to go through, and gives Atheros a foothold in a new market. But this relationship reminded me of the WAPI (WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure) debate last year in which China was about to require this proprietary and closed security standard in all domestically sold Wi-Fi adapters and equipment. |

Tuesday Morning Afternoon Cold (Feb 01 2005 18:51 GMT) - Misc. crankiness, queries, etc. - I'm trying to figure out if I'm just reading/looking at things differently and thus I'm having the problem I'm about to explain or if this is just a common thing that happens to everyone. Basically I'm having trouble with numbers running into each other, and more frequently, getting reversed in my mind. I work with numbers a lot during the day and I'm having to check, recheck and re-recheck to make sure that I'm not transposing numbers. |
