President Says Social Security Shortfall Huge, but HisTax Cuts and Drug Benefit Cost 5 Times As Much (Feb 01 2005 21:59 GMT) - Excerpt: "The tax cuts and the prescription drug bill were the President's two principal domestic priorities during his first term. Together, these policies will cost at least five times as much over the next 75 years as the Social Security shortfall (if the tax cuts are made permanent). Skype goes out of beta (Feb 01 2005 21:59 GMT) - i have absolutly no experiences using a bluetooth headset. i prefer using a handset instead of a headset, since that gives me a more telephone alike feeling while using skype. the one i am using is from eutectics and you can see it here. it is very minimalistic in features, it offers no buttons or a builtin ring signal or led, its just a audioin/audioout usb device without need of a soundcard itself. i have no clue if the builtin hookswitch function (so you can answer and hangup by just picking up the phone or placing it back to its "cradle") works with a mac ; |

The XPC Factor (Feb 01 2005 21:58 GMT) - Digitimes has another article focusing on Shuttle and their small form factors. We think the Mac mini is very positive for Shuttle. Apple is a major IT company, so people will look at what they are doing and start paying more attention to the small-form-factor market, which will help it expand. For Apple, though, its growth will be limited by the fact that the Mac operating system is not really expected to win over more than 5% of the market. At any rate, Shuttle is the leader in the small-form-factor segment for style, performance and quality, so we are the ones who will benefit as the market expands. |
