Grant me comedy as a weapon or bring me death (Feb 24 2005 19:54 GMT) - A very kind lady on the MdDS mailing list today suggested using 'sugar not vinegar' in my dealings with my ENT specialist. Those of you who have read earlier posts will recall he's still not answered four questions by fax, meaning I'm left waiting for thousands of pounds in catch-up income protection payments because my insurance won't pay up until he provides his report. I completely agree with my fellow sufferer's analogy under most circumstances, although I might add as a proviso that you can only go so long before it becomes incredibly contrived; you feel your smile becoming more rigid and you start to wonder if rigor mortis is setting in even though you're not dead. That, or you're developing an ability to fake pleasantries that would make you an ideal candidate for a game show host, you know? |
