Securing the Future through Election Reform (Feb 28 2005 23:58 GMT) - In 2000 and 2004, Democrats and Republicans pointed accusatory fingers at each other, claiming "They're trying to steal the election!". Accusations of vote stuffing, ineligible voting, mislaid votes, rigged computers, purged voter rolls and voters that should have been purged... |

Travelers' Rest (Feb 28 2005 23:58 GMT) - Travelers' Rest lies on the outskirts of the low side of Port, a cluster of tombs, ossuaries, graves, wooden shelters, half-fallen halls and the ruins of a modest temple. The Rest is tended - after a fashion - by the Gray Folk; outcast poor, criminals, orphans and cripples unable to make a living in any other way. They dwell in the small buildings and ossuaries, always short of food and shelter; no-one in need is turned away, but all must share alike. |

Dogs vs. Cats, Treasury vs. State, Economists vs. Diplomats (Feb 28 2005 23:57 GMT) - Cats vs. Dogs, State vs. Treasury, Diplomats vs. Economists Once again today I had my nose rubbed in a fact of life... Soccer: The men in black: unloved and under pressure. (Feb 28 2005 23:57 GMT) - squealy: The Times has a fairly lengthy article regarding football referees and the pressures they are under. It focuses on Premiership referee Rob Styles and contains some interesting stuff on referee's training and how they are using modern technology. It also gives an insight into Styles' rather novel take on players directing offensive comments at refs. |

Forex Trading Fundamental Analysis: Reserve Diversification by the Asian Central Banks (Feb 28 2005 23:56 GMT) - If the Asian central banks start to diversify out of USD assets in earnest, the USD would be in significant jeopardy. While this is a legitimate risk, I do not think it is a likely scenario, mainly because the Asian central banks would be the biggest losers. I believe that many Asian central banks are likely to be enticed to reduce their exposure to USD assets, while Japan and China ? the two largest central banks in Asia and those with the largest official reserves in the world ? will likely refrain from significantly reducing their USD exposure. |
