Ohio Library Funding Notes (Mar 05 2005 23:59 GMT) - AshtabulaGuy writes "It's state budget time in Ohio! The Akron Beacon-Journal reports that the Barberton Public Library is seeking a property tax levy from voters in its district in Summit County. After failing last fall to get a property tax levy passed by voters to shore up its budget, the library is trying again. The article notes that due to state-level funding uncertainty the need for more local funding increases. Meanwhile in Seneca County, county officials made a major attempt to lobby state lawmakers to not cut revenue sharing funds. |

Utah governor weighs antiporn proposal (Mar 05 2005 23:59 GMT) - CNET Reports The Utah governor is deciding whether to sign a bill that would require Internet providers to block Web sites deemed pornographic and that could also target e-mail providers and search engines. Late Wednesday night, the Utah Senate approved controversial legislation that would create an official list of Web sites with publicly available material found to be "harmful to minors." Internet providers in Utah must offer their customers a way to disable access to sites on the list or face felony charges. |

Vonage - Port number from Vonage (Mar 05 2005 23:57 GMT) - I think the issue here is that vonage is not regulated by the fcc, although the clec's they get the numbers from are. because vonage gets the number from the clec, they are the customer of record. when you get a telephone number from a clec or ilec (basically a line from a traditional phone company) you are the customer of record, and you can have the number moved. so if vonage is the customer of record, and they don't want the number moved... but if you port your traditional line to one of vonage's clec's, you are still the customer of record. |

Staying Healthy When Working 12 Hours a Day? (Mar 05 2005 23:56 GMT) - dwija asks: "I just got a new job where I just sit in one place all day and work for 12 hours at a stretch. This goes on for 4 days a week and I get 3 days off. The journey to and from my office takes up about 3 hours of my day. I am a little worried now cause i am becoming really weak and I am not as healthy as I used to be. |

It can be used to draw specific types of diagrams such as network and UML diagrams and flowcharts, while also providing some more generic objects to draw with. Dia may be extended to use new shape types by writing a simple XML description of the shape. The diagrams can be exported to a number of formats including EPS, SVG, CGM and PNG. Diagrams can also be printed (splitting the diagram to multiple pages if appropriate). |
