Vonage - Help: Vonage and SOHO (VP412) PBX system (Mar 05 2005 23:55 GMT) - I also have a VoiceLogic 412 and it works great with the Motorola VT1005V unit but doesn't work with the Linksys PAP2. I can call out fine but when calling in the 412 either doesn't pick up the line or immediately drops the line when connected. The ringing voltage is about the same (60 VAC) but the Motorola rings at the normal 20 Hz while the PAP2 uses the Eurpopean 25 Hz ringing signal. I tried to get Vonage to send me a Motorola unit for the line but they don't use them any more (or thats what the CSR said). If anyone has additional ideas about getting the two to work please post them here. |

Vonage - Today's outage - a case for regulation (Mar 05 2005 23:55 GMT) - Well, at the verge of being flamed.... I stand with my opinion... Regulate Vonage. I think you should go back to copper if you don't like the risks involved with Vonage. However, do not demand the rest of us be regulated simply because you can't deal with 45 minutes of down time a year. |

Vonage - Today's outage - a case for regulation (Mar 05 2005 23:55 GMT) - I'm so tired of the whole "quit complaining or go back to POTS" thing. You can tell people they're rolling the dice with VoIP until you're blue in the face, but that's not the way Vonage markets its business. Although the members of this forum know better, Vonage claims to deliver " |

Vonage - Port number from Vonage (Mar 05 2005 23:55 GMT) - I have read on other forums Vonage doesn't transfer back very easily. According to the FCC, they have no choice. All numbers are portable. Basically you can move any number to anywhere. Almost as if you OWN the number. |

Technorati Searchlet added... (Mar 05 2005 23:54 GMT) - It wasn't a simple copy and paste but I've got the Technorati Searchlet up and running. I ran into a minor issue because there's already a form embedded in this application. So dropping the Searchlet form in and expecting it to post over to Technorati right out of the gate wasn't going to work. So I removed the form tags from the snippet that Technorati provides and I installed a dirt simple |

Questions in Giuliana Sgrena Shooting (Mar 05 2005 23:53 GMT) - My piece earlier this morning, "Distorted Coverage of Giuliana Sgrena Shooting," arguing that the headlines of many major media outlets were misleading because they failed to mention that Sgrena's car was speeding toward a military checkpoint, drew some negative comments. A few commentators noted that the facts were still ... |
