Hey, buddy! Have a hat! (Mar 21 2005 23:59 GMT) - In a rare burst of common sense, I passed the Parrot design lead hat on. Chip Salzenburg, past perl pumpkin, has agreed to take on the hat, which I'm quite happy about. Chip's a sharp guy, and I have no worries that between Chip and Leo that Parrot's in good hands. I expect the news'll not take too many people by surprise, as it was past due. I've been essentially missing the past few months, with Real Life (pesky thing that -- I think I disapprove) getting in the way.... |

Dock your iPods in Style (Mar 21 2005 23:59 GMT) - If you’re against shoving your iPod shuffle into your USB port or the simplistic beauty of a cable to connect your iPod to your Mac, then you are probably one of those people that must have a dock for everything (and ruined the simplicity of the original iPod’s firewire cable interface for me and others like me who were thwarted by your answers to a questionnaire provided by Apple’s |

Deaf Reckoning (Mar 21 2005 23:58 GMT) - At 25, I had never imagined going deaf. I was a newly married third-grade teacher and a two-time nominee for Massachusetts teacher of the year. I was also pursuing a master's degree and working part time as a dance instructor. Without warning, a dark oil spill of silence began spreading over my world, destroying the life I had created. No doctor, no inner perseverance, no medication could stop this isolating fate we call deafness. |

UK: Royal Mommie Dearest? Spare a thought for poor Charles [Maurizio Morabito] (Mar 21 2005 23:57 GMT) - First of all, who had the daft idea of calling a British Prince "Charles"? More importantly, the guy has spent his first 5 birthdays without his travelling parents. Dad has never harboured any good opinion of him, and Mom has spent the best part of 25 years making a point to show she is in charge no matter when, no matter where, and the poor sod can simply talk to his plants To spread salt onto the wound, the latest news are about the Duchess of Cornwall becoming The Queen of England, after the scare of the Windsor Castle becoming the ground of countless civil weddings. It may just be a sign that little about the Monarchy is taken seriously, by courtiers, lawyers or politicians Really, despite not appearing to be the brightest kid on the block, Prince Charles deserves some simpathy as he is clearly surrounded by people that can't wait to make him an object of scorn and derision... |

Backlinks within your site (Mar 21 2005 23:57 GMT) - Quote: "Most sites that don't rank well in search results fail because of on-page factors which should be addressed first. " Isn't this kind of like the chicken and the egg debate? If you have only internal links will you really be able to rank well even if you have the most optimized site around? If you have a billion links will you rank high with a horribly optimized page? |
