Verizon Issues Statement on MCI (Apr 25 2005 02:25 GMT) - This must be becoming a nightmare for those of you that are customers of these shmucks.Today MCI reiterated what it expressed over two weeks ago -- namely that it would deem a Qwest offer of $30 to be superior to the $23.10 provided under the current Verizon-MCI merger agreement -- apparently concluding that the difference was sufficient compensation for the increased risks associated with |

We Have Been Here Before (Apr 25 2005 02:25 GMT) - We have been here before. We have seen these same trees: the Junipers and Oaks sensibly standing back from creekbed and the torrents that sometimes flow this way; the battered, leaning Sycamores without the same sense. We have heard the same birds singing from the woods and seen the same vultures turning on breezes against the blue sky. |

But it took the vendor at least three months to release the fix. The iSync application allows users to synchronise data such as mp3 files, address book entries or calendar appointments between a PC and mobile devices such as iPods, mobile phones or PDAs. The patch released on Tuesday is identified as Security Update 2005-004. It followed one month after update 2005-003. |

Google Maps on Rails (Apr 25 2005 02:23 GMT) - Quick summary: I've got some code here that should let you pretty easily add custom google maps to your rails app. It's far from complete but it's enough to get you going. It's based on work from Anselm Hook (who looks like this), which was based on work from Phil at mygmaps.com, which of course is based on Google Maps which has a copyright notice like every two lines in their obfuscated javascript code. |

T-Mobile Offers Street-Level Coverage Maps. ... (Apr 25 2005 02:23 GMT) - T-Mobile Offers Street-Level Coverage Maps. T-Mobile cell and hotspot subscribers can use this to find out specific coverage areas: This is a marvelous tool and one all carriers should emulate. It shows specific levels of expected signal strength for T-Mobile's cellular network--this would help plan for GPRS use as well as voice--and has a checkbox that lets you see T-Mobile's hotspots as well. You don't have to have a T-Mobile account to use it. |

It covered a shorter period - just the time from American entry in 1917 through the end of Wilson's presidency. |
