Server Maintenance Media Arrives (Apr 29 2005 19:59 GMT) - Those nice folks from Federal Express just dropped off 9 copies of Tiger Server 10.4, which came as part of our MacOS X Server Software Maintenance Program. When Panther came out, it was about 4 months before we got media, so this is impressive. First impressions of Tiger Server to follow, as soon as it's done installing on the PowerMac G4 Macintosh Server machine that I've got laying around collecting dust. |

Tiger OS: More Breaking Applications (Apr 29 2005 19:59 GMT) - Yesterday we started a thread discussing what breaks on Apple's new Tiger. Since the comment thread there is getting a bit full, I thought we'd start another one since people are starting to get their little grubby hands on the thing en masse today, and are sure to have more to add. Much discussed is Photoshop, Cisco VPN software, Retrospect, and the official Bit Torrent client. Not so oft mentioned are virus detecting programs (Norton AV and Virex both break), and Virtual PC, which may have networking issues. What else is breaking for you? |
