Tiger Successfully Installed (Apr 30 2005 00:35 GMT) - I have successfully installed Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). Currently, the only issue that I have to report is that the "Find and install new 3rd-party QuickTime software" link in the QuickTime pref pane goes nowhere (it goes to one of Apple's custom 404 error pages). Out of my Blogroll: Tom has had [... |

Defining an E-Learning Strategy (Apr 30 2005 00:35 GMT) - Good strategy: "Your first step is not to select an LMS and the technology for creating your courses. Before you even think about technology, get a good grasp of your corporate business goals. Define the vision, business and operational strategy for the learning group. Then, making use of whatever tools you may have, define learning objectives by curriculum and individual learning experience. |

The Horseless Carriage... (Apr 30 2005 00:35 GMT) - "It's all got to be about the individual. And my preferred way of expressing that is that a weblog is a representation of a person." This is my view as well, which is why I begin to get my hackles up when people start talking about corporate blogs, or assigned blogs, or edited blogs. Because if you take seriously the idea that a weblog is "a whole prosthetic version of yourself" then each of these is some sort of external entity substituting their identity for yours in your space. And that troubles me, for if there is one this that should be irreducibly ours, it is our identity. |

Helpline Comment (30958) (Apr 30 2005 00:33 GMT) - Windows allows longer filenames than the cd standard. By the definition of LFN being more than 8.3, yes it is supported, but I think it is limited to 80 charachters and windows is 128, or something. So yes it will complain about some filenames. I've mainly noticed this with internet temp files, the favorites folder, and mp3's when backing stuff up. |
