Places to meet single women (Apr 30 2005 02:44 GMT) - Halley is chatting up BlogHERCon and how there is/was a perception that it was a women only event. As a single guy I was thinking it might be a good place to enjoy the company of a bunch of intelligent women. It has to be better than looking for single women at Kinkos :) |

Santa Monica Students Tackle Racism (Apr 30 2005 02:44 GMT) - by TChris According to students at Santa Monica High School, the school administration has done little to address persistent racism within the school district. A coalition of students of color has decided to tackle the problem by creating a ten point plan to attack the root causes of racial violence. Next on Fox: When polling firms attack! (Apr 30 2005 02:43 GMT) - The first question we need to ask ourselves is why haven't we heard from GPC Research and The Strategic Council prior to their latest revelations about a Liberal rebound? The second question we need to ask ourselves is why haven't we seen any polls from reputable polling sources like Environics, Ipsos-Reid, or Leger Marketing since the budget deal was announced? Did they give their employees a well deserved holiday? The answer to the first question is simple. Both of these firms are either small (The Strategic Council) or have little prior involvement in politics (GPC Research). |

5 Things I'm not Wild About (Apr 30 2005 02:43 GMT) - As Will Baude has passed me the meme, I must comply. Five things that my friends/peer group are wild about, that I'm not really that into. The deal is that it's some kind of Caesar's Bath meme. I'm supposed to use the words of Caesar (from History of the World Part I), ?Nice. |

Getting Blogs Into Schools (Apr 30 2005 02:41 GMT) - I know I've mentioned it before, but I've had the great fortune this year to team teach the technology part of a doctoral course at Seton Hall with Alan November, and tonight we were back in class talking about blogs and wikis and the like. There are about 25 students in the cohort and about half have dipped into blogs in one way or another. I've linked to some here previously, but I found out tonight that there was quite a bit of blogging going on under the radar as well. There was actually blogapplause...cool! |

US Economic Demand Will Fall, So Will the Asian Economy (Apr 30 2005 02:39 GMT) - With the US economy sooner or later will be faced with a major correction in demand. That means the US consumer will soon be forced to stop spending as much as they have been. A huge trade imbalence and growing debt while US household income falters makes this correction inevitable. Worse yet, per capita income in the US is headed downward or will remain stagnant for a long time. Globalization means cheaper goods from international sources. |
