All iPods In One Basket (Jun 17 2005 23:59 GMT) - This is the first iPod shop in Paris, according to MacBidouille. The owners must have a lot of faith in the iPod brand, to bet the entire farm on one product. But as Fortune columnist Andy Serwer notes, the iPod is a singular sensation. There's been no product in decades with a comparable impact on business, culture and listenin |

Big Wheels Keep on Rolling (Jun 17 2005 23:58 GMT) - Lots of us when we graduated from high school got the best gift ever. Or if our parents were financially well off we got it on our sixteenth birthday. You know what I'm talking about, your first car. Your key to a new world on wheels. It's a feeling that is so amazing, it's almost like your flying (In my case I would by flying the invisible jet). |

The fixed-width design dilemma (Jun 17 2005 23:58 GMT) - Perhaps the biggest thing that every web designer has to grapple with is the fact that each website visitor might have any combination of web browser, browser window size and screen resolution. In other words, ten different people visiting the site might might have ten different website experiences. Site A viewed on Firefox for Windows on a screen with 1600x1200 resolution will look much different than the same site as viewed on, say, Internet Explorer for Mac with a screen resolution of 800x600. (Why any Mac user would even consider using Internet Explorer, I don't know. This is just a fer instance thing. |

Packing and Moving Tips (Jun 17 2005 23:57 GMT) - Please use the following tips on your next big move. 1. You can save a lot of money by packing most if not all of your belongings yourself by packing non-fragile items such as 1. books, linens, clothing and shoes etc. By packing these items yourself you free up the professional movers time for packing the heavier items which generally take more time to pack and haul into the moving truck. |

Quote of the day, 6/17 (Jun 17 2005 23:56 GMT) - The Armchair Generalist, on comparisons between Iraq and Vietnam: There's not that many COIN [counterinsurgency] operations that the US military has done, of course there's bound to be similarities. Other than the superficial, like two Texas presidents that use phony pretenses to start an aggression in a country and then figure out they can't sustain the war. |
