Joan, Atlantis and the Book... (Jul 18 2005 02:53 GMT) - I started to gather my notes last night for the Bill and Ted book. I have little scraps here and there - a few words scribbled down on my calendar over the years. It's going to be a bigger task than what I thought - not that it will sway my mind into not doing the book. I now know though that I need to be more organized and focused to get it all done. Writing all the little fillers now for |

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Movie Review by Al Q Bobson (Scott Daley) (Jul 18 2005 02:51 GMT) - Rating: 56% (S:55%, P:58%) - Burton works overtime to turn Charlie and the Chocolate Factory into an energetic, madcap roller-coaster ride of a movie, but it feels muddled and somewhat heartless. Look how much better a more delicate touch worked on the equally dark fable-like material of Edward Scissorhands (and look how much more brilliant and seemingly effortless Depp's performance was there). |

Salazar v. Proctor and Gamble (Jul 18 2005 02:49 GMT) - Salazar invented a toothbrush for stimulating gums and cleaning teeth using two kinds of elastic rods. Although Salazar never responded to the examiner's statement regarding "elastic" to not include nylon, the CAFC reversed, stating that failure to respond to a statement does not give rise to prosecutory estoppel. Groovers (Jul 18 2005 02:48 GMT) - Yesterday I drove down to Portland to attend the Dubtribe show with Dori. Dubtribe are pretty damn oldschool, and Dori and I are pretty damn oldschool, and as the space started to fill up, it became clear that pretty much everyone there was oldschool. Dori leaned over and commented that there were lots of groovers in the house, and my brain snapped to attention. Groovers! I'd totally forgotten about the distinction. |
