Google New Pay for Click "Rules" [Graham Baylis] (Sep 28 2005 07:49 GMT) - The changes to the "rules" that Google now uses for its Adwords "Pay for Click" system need to be carefully understood if you don't want to be paying more for your adverts that you should. The biggest and best "trick" is to ensure that the adverts you associate with your keywords contain that keyword (or a version of it), as otherwise Google will give that combination (keyword and advert) a low "Quality Score" and thus cause you to have to pay more for any "position" on their Search Engine pages. I'll be pleased to give more advice on this matter if anyone wants it, but in the meantime, has anyone else got any "tricks" they want to share?? After all we've got to stop Google making all that money somehow.... Graham Baylis Internet Marketing and Promotion Specialists www. |

Avoiding your parole officer? Don't try to escape on a cruise. (Sep 28 2005 07:49 GMT) - Larry Moore, jailed for resisting arrest and assault in 2002, was paroled in 2004 but failed to meet with his parole officer, resulting in an arrest warrant being issued. We know criminals are rarely accused of being the sharpest tacks in the shed, but still, what did Mr. Moore think would happen after he provided the details of his identity as required prior to boarding Voyager of the Seas last |

Some cruise passengers left unhappy by Katrina charters (Sep 28 2005 07:49 GMT) - The number of cruisers who had their trips cancelled due to Carnival's 3-ship, 6-month charter to FEMA likely numbers around 100,000, so it was inevitable that somebody would be mad about it. Indeed, due to the fact that the alternate cruises have tended to be more expensive, many of these displaced passengers will have to fork over more dough, even taking into account Carnival's addition of a |

Cruise ship shelter plan up in the air (Sep 28 2005 07:49 GMT) - The plan for Hurricane Katrina refugees to be housed onboard three Carnival cruise ships is in flux, as folks quite reasonably want to stay close to home and minimize re-relocation, while others aren't keen to live near the water. Plans for relocation elsewhere in the country have run into similar resistance. Here in our backyard, Massachusetts' offer to house up to 2,500 people is being taken up |

Hurricane Ophelia annoys Port Canaveral (Sep 28 2005 07:49 GMT) - Having graduated to hurricane status, today Ophelia has forced ships away from their turnaround stop in Port Canaveral and instead to more-southern Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale), such as Carnival's Fantasy and Disney's Wonder. Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas is skipping a call at Port Canaveral that had been scheduled for Friday. The storm is predicted to remain more-or-less stationary |

Cruise ships for Katrina disaster relief? (Sep 28 2005 07:49 GMT) - Reports this morning indicate the federal government has asked several cruise lines whether their ships could assist the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts in some way, from evacuation to long-term housing of victims. Old School Bounce Mix (Sep 28 2005 07:49 GMT) - CocaineBlunts.com (a music blog) has posted a mix of early New Orleans Bounce music, to generate donations for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Here's the description of the mix: It might seem a bit primitive in comparison to what's coming out of the area now, but bounce was crucial to the development of that sound. Here we got Juvenile's first appearance, early Mannie Fresh & KLC (Beats By The Pound/No Limit) beats alongside a ton of heads that aren't quite as recognizable. |
