Done Deal: New Times Chain Merges w/ L.A. Weekly's Parent (Oct 24 2005 05:58 GMT) - If there were any doubts about the L.A. Weekly's parent chain merging with the New Times chain of "alternative" weekly newspapers, they've been erased: Kevin Roderick reports that the new company will retain the name of the Weekly's chain - Village Voice Media - but be run by New Times architects Jim Larkin (CEO) and Michael Lacey (executive editor). I'll predict that It's not going to be a smooth transition, no matter how good the intentions on either side. |

Erectile dysfunction and cardiovascular disorders (Oct 24 2005 05:58 GMT) - October 21 - Today's menu features a rare chance to observe a newly appointed clinical indicator of Atherosclerosis: the presence of erectile dysfunction. Neglecting the fact that the indicator is only directly applicable to the male population, this appears to be a new arrow to the bow of general practitioners, who are presented with the treat of a risk factor that walks into the surgery and announces itself. That's something you will never see from LDL/HDL readings... |
