- wow - what a legend - at the ripe old age of 92 - rosa parks - the much loved & adored 'mother' of the civil rights movement has passed on to the other side - her civil disobedience act was played out on dec 1st 1955 (almost 50 years to the day!) - she refused to give up her seat on a city bus to a white man in montgomery alabama - after her subsequent arrest she helped (along with martin luther king jr.) to start something much needed & long overdue in this country - i can't even believe what went on in this country fifty years ago - we may have come a long way but the journey is far from over - we so need equality & acceptance for all - god bless rosa parks for what she stood for - and she will stand forever as a very important american icon & legend - oh rosa we miss your strong spirit already...much love to you...xxoo |
