Reorg (Oct 25 2005 23:55 GMT) - Following the deficit from yesterday, I revisited the two page synopsis first thing this morning. Nothing like writing deferred. A few plot points obsoleted themselves in the last month, so they were stricken. One point needed to be added. Continuity gaps between the manuscript and synopsis happen when I neglect a review for too long. |

Sins of the Fleshapoids (Oct 25 2005 23:55 GMT) - Highly Recommended In today's modern multimedia mindset, outsider art and artists get a pretty fair shake. Though they are never truly part of the mainstream, there are still enough outlets desperate for content that, at any given point, even the most underground of movements finds its facade plastered all over a magazine cover or cable news feature. In addition, the Internet acts like a merchandising missing link, giving individuals who used to toil away in abject obscurity an instant venue to shill their specialty. Filmmakers probably have the easiest time of it now. Thanks to emerging production and promotional technology, a couple thousand dollars can be turned into a career. |

The Wages of Fear - Criterion Collection (Oct 25 2005 23:55 GMT) - Highly Recommended The Movie: Henri-Georges Clouzot's 1953 masterpiece of suspense, Wages Of Fear was released in North American a year later in 1954 shorn of over twenty minutes. The American distributors removed portions of the film that they felt were anti-American, as they insinuated that the United States was involved in some crooked business dealings with less than wholesome elements down in South America. When Criterion released the film on laser disc, they restored the film to its full running time and when they issued the DVD the first time out, they ported over that same cut of the film. This new two disc special edition re-release of the film marks the third time that Criterion has released the uncut version of the film on home video, but this time out they make up for past mistakes by flagging the transfer for progressive scan playback, restoring the audio and video, and adding a wealt... |

TribeSpam (Oct 25 2005 23:55 GMT) - Posted by: LesV I just got my first Tribe Spam, an invitation similar to the typical Nigerian scam. (Help me get money out of my country and I'll split it with you...) They were already unsubscribed before I had a chance to report them. I'm sure this is the tip of the iceberg - I wonder if Tribe could detect mass mailings, or at least mailing the same message to more than 10 non-friend users in a short period. |

Flesh eating liquid (Oct 25 2005 23:55 GMT) - Ugh - sounds awful doesn't it. A few weeks back I told you that my daughter and my husband went on a deep sea fishing trip. She caught a shark and brought the mouth - jaw whatever home as a trophy. After a very short time of cleaning on it, she left it in the bowl of hydrogen peroxide and walked away. The next day I set the bowl outside. |
