With the support of the United Nations, the Tunis meeting was organised by the International Telecommunications Union, as a follow-up to WSIS I held in Geneva in 2003 to help us better understand, guide and benefit from the information revolution. The over 19,000 participants included 46 heads of state and government, vice presidents, ministers and top officials representing 174 countries and territories, and over 800 entities including UN agencies, private businesses and civil society organisations. |
