Tours: South Africa's Half Price in Europe this month (Dec 04 2005 23:54 GMT) - Red Ambulance Records act Half Price have announced the dates for a European tour this month. The band from Cape Town, South Africa has been banned from most venues in their home country for "professional misbehaviour” but hopes that "Europe is ready" for their brand of punk rock. The Banned from South Africa will mainly concentrate on Germany, but will also include shows in Luxemborg, the Czech Republic, Holland, Austria, Switzerland and England. |

Paul Weller to be honoured for musical achievements; rules out Jam reunion (Dec 04 2005 23:54 GMT) - Paul Weller will be honored for Outstanding Contribution to Music at next year's Brit Awards. The former Jam frontman, who formed the Style Council before launching a solo career in 1991, will receive the honour at the Earls Court event in February. The award recognizes musicians "whose influence, longevity and creativity puts them in the very top ranks of UK artists" and Weller will join previous recipients including David Bowie, Sting, U2 and Duran Duran. In related news, Weller recently spoke to NME on the subject of a Jam reunion: Nah that would never happen. |

For the Mathematics release tracks off upcoming LP (Dec 04 2005 23:54 GMT) - Ottawa, Ontario's For The Mathematics have released another new demo from their upcoming full length debut, A Versus. The band previously released The New Science in 2004 and recently began work on the debut. They describe the new material as "faster, more chaotic, more melodic and more rugged.
