one POINT-TO-POINT eight (Dec 13 2005 22:59 GMT) - And so, it arrived. With less fanfare than I originally thought possible, but maybe that is merely because so many Resis of Second Life are busying their bodies TPing from parcel-to-parcel. Those born today and onwards will not know the struggle, but they, like everyone else in Second Life, will enjoy the fruits. The concept of formerly having been relegated to the nearest Telehub—which have now been fashioned into a slimmer, sleeker community area known as Infohubs— |

Dear Mr. Ford (Dec 13 2005 22:57 GMT) - Our posts on Muni are among our most popular with our commenters, right up there with pizza, coffee, and copy-edits. Every post we do on bus madness is greeted with a thousand stories, each better than the last. It saddens us to see these stories languish in the (relative) obscurity of our comments sections. The advent of a new (and very well paid) head of Muni seems like a great reason to for us to make sure your Muni travalis to get a little more attention. Nathaniel P. |

Urban walking - musin' on cruisin' (Dec 13 2005 22:56 GMT) - The chapters I'm reading in Wanderlust dwell on urban walking. BBQ Season in Australia - Men at Work [Mark Wiggins] (Dec 13 2005 22:55 GMT) - As we approach summer in Australia and the BBQ season, it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime style of outdoor cooking. Especially as it's the only type of cooking a real man will do, probably because there is an element of danger involved. When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events is set in motion: Routine... 1) The woman buys the food. |

The advantages of low turnover (Dec 13 2005 22:53 GMT) - The US Postal Service is much maligned for poor customer service, inefficiency, and being a bloated government bureaucracy. They're big, they touch everyone's lives, and the sometimes screw up, so they're an easy target for ridicule. I have to say that there's one thing I generally like about the postal service though, and that's low turnover. You don't have to go to the post office too many times before you start recognizing the people working behind the counter, because they're always the same. Sure some of the people working behind the counter are slow, cranky, or both, but once you get to know them, you're rarely surprised. |
