'Desperate' to debut on Chinese TV (Dec 15 2005 23:46 GMT) - International News: Series dubbed into Mandarin, aired as 3 back-to-back episodes per night -- ABC's "Desperate Housewives" will debut Monday on China's state-run CCTV8. The Mouse House worked out the deal with the pubcaster during the summer, and the show was due to air in September. There's no word on what caused the delay or what, if any, license fee was paid for the show, since China typically hands over just a few thousand dollars per episode for the few foreign TV series it imports. |
