New Antibiotic Approved for Treating Bacterial Honey Bee Disease (Dec 19 2005 18:55 GMT) - American beekeepers will soon have a new antibiotic with which to protect their colonies from American foulbrood disease, thanks to Agricultural Research Service studies that paved the way for the compound's regulatory approval. TYLAN Soluble (tylosin tartrate), produced by Elanco Animal Health of Greenfield, Ind., was approved for use October 20 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, following the agency's review of research data compiled by scientists with the ARS Bee Research Laboratory in Beltsville, Md. |

Trustkill signs This Is Hell (Dec 19 2005 18:55 GMT) - Trustkill has signed Long Island, NY hardcore outfit This Is Hell. The band will enter Atomic Studios on February 15th, 2006 with producer Dean Baltulonis (Most Precious Blood, Sick of It All) to record their debut full-length, tentatively set for release in Spring 2006. The signing comes on the heels on the State of Mind release of a self-titled EP earlier this year. The band also self-released a four-song demo in Summer 2004. The band also has two shows in their home base of Long Island coming up. |

Tours: The Queers on tour with The Independents (Dec 19 2005 18:55 GMT) - Pop-punk stalwarts The Queers have set a number of dates to round out the end of the year. The long-running band recently completed a trip to Australia and have some time booked soon to begin work on their next full length. For the next album, the pop-punk act is planning to enlist the help of Lisa Marr, JJ Rassler and Ben Weasel who will also contribute in some way to the record which will be recorded in Chicago. Besides that, the band has joined numerous defectors from the troubled Lookout Records camp with plans to re-release much of their older material via Asian Man Records. That label was responsible for a full slate of Screeching Weasel releases throughout 2005. |

MGR (Isis) sets release for debut (Dec 19 2005 18:55 GMT) - MGR, the post-rock/post-hardcore side project from Isis guitarist Mike Gallagher, has set a March 7th, 2006 release date for their upcoming debut. Rust Records signs The Panic Scene, Southcott (Dec 19 2005 18:55 GMT) - Rust Records, a Cleveland-based imprint of Universal, has announced the signing of two new bands. First, the label has added Ohio's The Panic Scene (formerly The Fashion). The band is currently in the studio with producer Bryan Patrick recording their debut for a project spring 2006 release.
