Las Vegas Bowl 2005 - Overview, information, facts and details (Dec 19 2005 18:47 GMT) - The Las Vegas bowl has an interesting history, as it was started as a way for Las Vegas hotel operators to fill hotel rooms during their down season. The period between Thanksgiving and Christmas is somewhat of a slow time for Las Vegas, so in 1994 the first Las Vegas Bowl was held. The Las Vegas Bowl used to be the first bowl game of the season, but now it's the second. The game has now matured into what it is now, a game featuring the second selection of the Mountain West Conference against the fifth selection of the Pac-10 Conference. In 2005 this means that Brigham Young University (BYU) will take on California. |
