La Depresión Infantil: Como identificarla y tratarla (Dec 20 2005 00:51 GMT) - Hace unas semanas me llama una madre preocupada porque su niño mostraba una conducta rara y diferente, me decía ella-“Dr. mi nene ha cambiado lo he notado aburrido, sin energía, perdió el interés en sus actividades favoritas, no esta durmiendo ni comiendo bien. Se queja a diario de dolor de cabeza o de estómago y sus estudios se han deteriorado ausentándose mucho de la escuela, casi ni habla con nosotros. Lo noto triste y por todo llora mucho. Definitivamente ha cambiado en este último mes. |

No era la nota usual de los meses anteriores, en aquellas solo le pedían que visitara la escuela que Rafaelito estaba mostrando cambios muy notables en su conducta. Martínez su niño se está quejando diariamente de dolores de cabeza, de dolor de estómago, lo enviamos a enfermería y luego de hablar con la enfermera, el malestar le desaparece y regresa al salón. Por ende, quienes hayan leído con denuedo su inmortal lírica podrán entrever, sin mayor dificultad, que tras la lectura de este libro no se produce aquel arrobamiento que sí suscita el resto de sus escritos. |

Ghana: Ghanaians Involved in Protest Scuffles in Hong Kong (Dec 20 2005 00:50 GMT) - Ghanaian trade unionists, members of farmers' organisations and NGOs were among a group of protesters who clashed with Hong Kong city security officials towards the end of a demonstration last Wednesday. The protest march, which started at the Harcourt Gardens, near the police station in the heart of the city, drew hundreds of protesters from several countries including, Ghana, the Philippines, Taiwan, the USA, Korea, Zimbabwe, South Africa and many others. The protest was against the implementation of the WTO's General Agreements on Trade in Services, GATS, which calls for the liberalisation and privatisation of major social services, including water, which the demonstrators say should be under public ownership and control. |

The most recent and horrific have been the October 22 Bellview Airlines crash in Lissa, Ogun State and the December 10 crash of a Sosoliso airline in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In the two crashes 117 and 106 souls respectively were lost. |
