Microsoft Ends IE for Mac (Dec 20 2005 19:55 GMT) - A while ago, Microsoft stopped updating IE for Mac, freezing it at version 5. But according to Microsoft, all support will cease 31 December 2005, and any official distribution with cease 31 January 2006. They also suggest that Macintosh users migrate to more recent web browsing technologies such as Apple's Safari |

Locating Word Stuffing Techniques (Dec 20 2005 19:55 GMT) - If you've ever built your own search engine then you know how much fun it can be. Today during lunch I was working on an object that will fit into my Document Indexing engine. Specifically, I was looking for ways to identify spam or spammy techniques and so I'm starting with word stuffing. I want to have the ability to set a spam rank on a given document and word stuffing is just two pieces that make up spam rank. So I need to know if documents are repeating words on a single line and/or multiple lines. |
