- The 'festive season' has many different days for celebration depending on your country and religious belief. I like marking the Winter Solstice because people have been doing it, without the aid of calendars, for thousands of years. It must have been a relief for people living a hand-to-mouth existence to know that the sun was coming back again. In terms of celebration, it has mainly been incorporated into current traditions - evergreen decorations, lights, yule logs. Cider appears to be the New Age drink of choice. |
