Shorter tempered (Dec 21 2005 19:55 GMT) - The Prozac has utterly curtailed the dizzy/woozy Effexor withdrawal effects, which is fantastic. Although I'm still feeling a wee bit short tempered. Still, even that is improving. I didn't have the burning desire this morning to strangle the Barnes & Nobles information desk employee when he kept pointing me to the Poetry section (where I'd just spent 45-minutes fruitlessly looking for the book I wanted) and telling me that everything was organized by author (duh). Nor did I feel the need to get out my stabby pen when he said he couldn't help me after I explained that I didn't know the name of the author (editor actually). |

Madison media rates the top 15 national music releases (Dec 21 2005 19:55 GMT) - Last week saw the release of top 10 (and 15) lists in coreweekly, The Daily Cardinal and the Onion (yes, the Onion no longer resides in Madison, but it was born here). We have taken those lists and boiled them down to one Madison top 15 list. We scored this list by giving every album points based on their position on the various lists. We used a 15 - 1 point scale because the Cardinal had a top 15. For example, if an album was number one on the list, they were given 15 points, number 2 on the list received 14. |

EA Misses Profit Targets (Dec 21 2005 19:54 GMT) - Reuters reports that EA will be "well below" estimates for the December quarter. EA Chief Exec Larry Probst told Reuters, "For the December quarter, it is likely the industry will be down double digits on a percentage basis." However, all of this gloom and doom financial talk shouldn't concern anyone too much. I think, if nothing else, people are being careful with their cash and waiting to see what the next generation of consoles is going to offer us. But, if PS3 ships next holiday season (as people expect) - we'll probably see more shortages and overall sales could still be low. |
