Feed file extension rules? (Dec 24 2005 00:59 GMT) - Hello,I just subscribed to Newgator for Outlook, and I'm playing with the online version. I tried to add the following feed, but was told that it could not be added. Is there an issue with feeds which do not have the more standard rss/rdf/xml ending? The feed validates, so I'm not sure what the issue might be.Thank you,SFeed: |

Panasonic TH-42PD50U 42" Flat-Panel EDTV Plasma TV (Dec 24 2005 00:59 GMT) - Panasonic TH-42PD50U 42" Flat-Panel EDTV Plasma TVThis unit will create a breathtaking display, depending on the source, and I give it 5 stars for that ability. At the moment, I'm using a non-progressive scan DVD player and movies look terrific. They are as good as or better than what I've seen in theaters. Upgrading to an HDMI enabled progressive scan player might improve the picture, but I can't imagine paying hundreds of dollars for that privilege. And I'm not sure it would do the trick anyway, because the TH-42PD50U is configured to take any signal and attempt to scale it to the optimal number of lines. |

When it Rains, It Pours (Dec 24 2005 00:58 GMT) - The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is warning residents in low lying areas that the expected rain for this and next weeks may lead to property damage and flooding. The PUC has mobilized teams to go out and check on storm drains and catch basins to ensure none are blocked (report clogged or non-draining sewers at 415-28-CLEAN), and has prepared information on how to protect yourself in case of flooding. Check it out: "For information on free sandbags to protect your property, call (415) 28-CLEAN or visit the Department of Public Works at 2323 Cesar Chavez Street at Kansas Street." Free sand bags? |

Cash Cab (Dec 24 2005 00:57 GMT) - I don't know how many of you tune in to the Discovery Channel, but I've discovered a new show that is both amusing and entertaining. It's called "Cash Cab" and it's based on a British game show with the same name. The premise is very simple. Host, Ben Bailey, drives a taxi around New York City and picks up unknowing fares who are then invited to take part in a game show inside the cab. The |

Is Australia a racist nation? (Dec 24 2005 00:56 GMT) - Sadly, I think the answer is yes. I'm not just talking about the impending Christmas dinner where we're forced to listen to the older generation rant about immigrants and religious extremists. There's been a lot of racist violence in Sydney lately and even locally in Brisbane, teenagers are scrawling racist graffiti outside Asian restaurants. Maybe it's the isolation that comes from being an island. Or the current state of the world is bring out the fearful, conservative side of people. |
